Orestes

Orestes knows he scraped the door when he was not there. “Yo hubiera vivido ahí,” he said, I would have passed through ten thousand times and more.

Orestes is a character in Greek mythology. However, his original story plot is not important for my story. I was in Peru when I took a Greek Literature Class and the whole semester we read different versions that remixed ideas and characters from the orginal play. The version by Jean-Paul Satre, French Philosopher of Exsistencialism, is the one my poem referes to. In the play, Orestes goes back to this home town and starts imagining what it was like if he would have lived there. He imagines himself doing normal things like passing through the same door everyday, growing up with the same door for years. I was doign the same thing. I was imagining
